Products

What types of honey do you sell?+
We offer a diverse range of artisanal honeys: raw wildflower honey, lychee honey, vanilla honey, spiced honey, and seasonal special editions. Each variety is harvested in the valleys of eastern Mauritius and offers unique aromas linked to the local flora.
How is your honey harvested?+
Our honey is harvested by hand using traditional bee-friendly methods. We use no heat treatment, no additives and no preservatives. The honey is cold-extracted then lightly filtered to preserve all its natural benefits, enzymes and nutrients.
How should I store honey?+
Store your honey in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid refrigerating it. If your honey crystallises, it is a sign of quality and purity — simply place the jar in a warm water bath (maximum 40°C) to restore its liquid texture.
What is the shelf life of honey?+
Pure honey has a virtually unlimited shelf life thanks to its natural antibacterial properties. However, for optimal taste quality, we recommend consuming our honeys within 2 years of the harvest date indicated on the jar.

Orders & Payment

What payment methods do you accept?+
We accept the following payment methods: Juice (mobile payment), Cash on Delivery (COD), and MIPS (Mauritius Interbank Payment System). All payments are secured.
Can I modify my order after placing it?+
You can modify your order as long as it has not been prepared for dispatch. Contact us quickly by email at contact@miel.mu or by phone. Once the order has been dispatched, no modifications will be possible.
How can I track my order?+
After your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with a tracking number. You can also track your order status from your customer area on Miel.mu, in the "My Orders" section.

Delivery

How long does delivery take?+
Delivery times vary from 2 to 5 business days depending on your location in Mauritius. Orders placed before 2pm are generally prepared the same day.
Do you deliver island-wide?+
Yes, we deliver across the entire Mauritian territory through our partner Fretolia. From Port Louis to Mahebourg, from Grand Baie to Souillac, we cover all regions of the island.
What are the delivery fees?+
Delivery fees are automatically calculated based on the weight of your order and your delivery zone. The exact amount will be displayed at checkout, before order validation.

Jar Recall

How does the jar recall programme work?+
It is simple: keep your empty Miel.mu jars, return them with your next order or at a designated collection point, and receive a discount on your next purchase. Jars must be clean and intact.
What discount do I get?+
The discount amount depends on the number and size of jars returned. Details are available on our dedicated jar recall page. Every returned jar counts!
Am I eligible for the programme?+
All customers who have purchased Miel.mu products are eligible. Simply return jars bearing the Miel.mu branding, clean and in good condition. There is no minimum number of jars required.

Beehive Sponsorship

What does sponsoring a hive mean?+
Sponsoring a hive means financially contributing to the maintenance and protection of a bee colony in our apiaries. As a sponsor, you receive regular news about your hive, photos and updates on the colony's health.
How is my contribution used?+
Your contribution is used directly for the purchase of beekeeping equipment, veterinary care for the bees, planting of melliferous flowers and general maintenance of the apiaries. Every cent is invested in the well-being of our bees and the preservation of Mauritian biodiversity.

Custom Orders

Can I bring my own jar?+
Yes, we encourage this eco-friendly approach! You can bring your own clean and sterilised glass jar. Contact us beforehand to check compatibility and arrange filling.
What is the minimum quantity for a custom order?+
For custom orders (events, corporate gifts, weddings), the minimum quantity is 10 units. Contact us at contact@miel.mu to discuss your project and receive a personalised quote.
